Each week as we find interesting articles that deserve a little more attention than they get, so we like to post a few of them here. This week we found some articles about how different generations view prepping, from old fogies like me to the younger generation, a website that has a few tips from the pros, part one of a three part series on homesteading and prepping, a great prepper podcast and an article about where our hard earned tax dollars are going…and that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
Interesting Articles Around The Web This Week
On ProperSurvival.com I found a great article about preparedness tips from the pros. This is not your average blog post, it might be a little better. Jonathan gets prepping tips from several different webmasters around the internet. This website is fairly new, but keep it on your radar.
EdThatMatters.com is another website from Todd Sepulveda. In this article he writes about how generation z (anyone born after 2001) is “wired differently” than us “older” folks. He goes into quite a bit of detail explaining how different the generations are and their differing views on prepping. There is also a great info graphic about data footprints by generations.
Survival And Beyond is a podcast by Ed Corcoran, the creator of survivalist magazine. This is really not one particular article, but more of a great resource I found. I love podcasts, they offer me a great way of learning and listening while I’m on the go. If you have never listened to podcasts, I suggest you do, you will probably find out (just like I did) that you are hooked.
This is not an article per say, but a collection of articles put together daily by Survival Pulse. I love websites like these because it makes surfing the web for great articles that much easier. head over and see if they have what you like.
This article from The Prepared Ninja really got my blood boiling! Not because it was something I didn’t know, but more because of the blatant disregard for hard working Americans everywhere like you and me. A staggering 47% of Americans are on food stamps today, and I’ll bet around 10% of those people actually
need deserve them. We work our butts off so this guy doesn’t starve while he is surfing his life away.
Homesteading and preparing go hand in hand. learning the skills to be self reliant might turn out to be critical to your survival in the near future. Part 1 of this 3 part series from The Art Of Survival goes into learning to garden. If you have never tried to garden, you know it’s not as easy as it seems, and like he says in the article…Practice, Practice, Practice.
This article from the Geek Prepper (great name) talks about buying silver and gold because of the current economy. opinions differ on the value of precious metals during a SHTF scenario but one thing is certain, gold and silver will never be worthless, and if you manage to survive long enough you could be sitting pretty for the rest of your life.
This article is a guest post from Kris A. on The Survival Mom website. I wish I knew who this author was because this is a really good article for anyone with children. the author goes into detail about not only how much you should teach your children, but how much they should know at different ages.
Have a Suggestion?
I’m sure you know that there are about a half million websites out there that have great articles that deserve a little extra attention. If you know of a website that you think we should spotlight, let us know, or better yet leave a comment below and tell the entire Survivalist Prepper community about them.
