Podcast LogoWe always hear about bugging out and supplies for your bug out bags. But my question is Why would you want to leave everything that you have stored and head out into the unknown with a pack on your back.

There is quite a bit more that goes into bugging in and bugging out, and we honestly might not have any option other than bugging out. We go over some of the different reasons you would want to stay and different reasons you might want to go. Your personal situation will play a big role in this.

Some things to consider when bugging out are…

  • What are you going to eat?
  • Where are you going to go?
  • Can you survive outside?
  • How are you going to stay warm?
  • What are you going to use for light when its dark?

Some benefits of bugging in…

  • Comfort, cloths, shelter, cooking, heat.
  • More Security.
  • Bigger Community.
  • More supplies.
  • You know your surroundings.
  • Traveling is dangerous.

Survival and being prepared should not only be a passion, it should be a lifestyle. The definition of a prepper is "An individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances, without substantial resources from outside sources" Like the Government, police etc. I don't believe that the end of the world will be the "end of the world" I believe it will be the end of the world as we know it now. Hi Dale, just listened to the podcast, as a relatively new prepper I think creation of the BOB or even a car BIB is a good start to get you into the mind set of prepping and makes you think about the things you would need to survive 72 hours or as long as you’ve prepared for. So regardless of whether your intention is to bug out or not the creation of a BOB or cashe of items helps you to focus on what is required to survive.

Great point Ian. Even if your bug out plan is going from your front door to your car you might as well have a bug out bag to take with you.
