SPP068 Preparedness Myths & Conspiracy Theory

There are quite a few myths flying around out there about preppers and in this show Lisa and  I go into what a few of these are. It seems that conspiracy theory goes hand in hand with prepping, after all we need to look into everything in hopes of not getting blindsided by something right? We talk about how we can’t afford to take everything at face value and how these conspiracy theory can help and hurt us during our journey to becoming more self reliant.

In the Show…

Lisa went through her 5 prepping myths and how we can get information from people that are just smart enough to be dangerous. Her list included…

1. There is no reason to prepare because the government is here to protect us. They did a great job during Katrina right?

2. Preppers are crazy! This could be a little true, but I think we need to be. What is more crazy, ignoring everything or questioning everything?

3. BUY THIS NOW! This could save your life! Hard selling and fear based tactics.

4. I am a “prepping Guru” so you need to do what I say.

5. Preppers are fear mongers! The mainstream has created this perception of preppers.

Are We In Too Deep?

This article I wrote goes into more about how we need to do our research and not get sucked in by all the misinformation out there…form the mainstream AND the alternative news sites.

I also talked about Operation North Woods which was a government “False Flag” event that never took place but the documents were declassified in 1997. I have found a few articles about this that cover both sides of the story.

The best thing we can do as preppers is question everything. If we are being sucked in by the alternative media and not researching the facts we are no better that the sheeple that are hypnotized by the mainstream media.
