Survival and being prepared should not only be a passion, it should be a lifestyle. The definition of a prepper is "An individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances, without substantial resources from outside sources" Like the Government, police etc. I don't believe that the end of the world will be the "end of the world" I believe it will be the end of the world as we know it now. Good episode. I think we get accustomed to the gradual loss of civility so much so that a total breakdown could be upon us in increments, like the frog in the pot of boiling water analogy. In the local paper of a rural county next to us the headline is about the drug epidemic that we have slid into. As we consider ways we would survive in a broken down society, because we are civil, we find it difficult to accept that there would be widespread incivility, or what it would be like. This is for sure: there would be massive drug problems and along with it home invasions, prostitution, scams, gang supported extortion. We cannot conceive of being under the hand of a gang, or what to do to prevent, survive or defeat it. We view the ISIS capture of innocent victims from afar, but what is stopping it from showing up in our neighborhood in the form of a drug gang, ISIS or whatever? The community that headlines that drug epidemic by the way is in such poor financial condition that they are debating disbanding their police force.
