Some of the Best Websites for Prepper (Updated)A few years ago I wrote this post about what some of my favorite prepper websites are. A lot has changes since then, and there are quite a few more websites that I frequent, so I wanted to update that list.

Keep in mind as you are reading this that it is not a list of the best prepper websites out there, it’s just a list of some of the best websites for preppers that we know and trust. There are also many more websites that I could have included on this list, and probably a few you would add yourself.

While focusing on all aspects of preparedness is important, people have different preferences and different interests. Some people enjoy bushcraft more than others, and some people focus more on food storage techniques. As you will see, my list and Lisa’s list are completely different.

SPP165 Best Prepper Websites

Play

This list is of websites and Youtube channels we know and trust. With all the “information” out there it can be pretty hard sometimes to figure out what is quality information, and what is made up, or just bad information.

If you have a favorite preparedness related website leave a comment below. Also, if you have a questionable website you want to know about, leave a comment and I’ll let you know what I think about it.

Aggregation Websites

I love these aggregation websites because they basically do the work for me. They will take the newest articles on the internet and link to the ones that are most helpful.

General Preparedness Websites

Here are a few prepper websites that cover a wide range of topics. There are many more great preparedness websites, but this is my “go to” list.

Bushcraft Prepping

I really enjoy the survivalist aspect of prepping because I think it is an integral part of being prepared for anything that might happen.

Preparedness YouTube Channels

Here are a few more Youtube channels that I subscribe to and visit on a regular basis.

For even more preparedness related YouTube channels check out this post from UrbanSurvivalSite. It has 100 YouTube Channels listed there

Lisa’s List

Here are a few of my favorite places to go for looking for ideas for prepping and self-reliance…

Pinterest

There is SO much information to be found here. I would say I use Pinterest like I do a search engine. You can create boards, and pin different articles that you find to these board so you can come back to them at a later time.

Some boards that I have created, prepping, off grid ideas, gardening, backyard farming, recipes, food storage, essential oils, homemade products, remodeling, home staging, and my horse ones too, but I create boards for many, many different ideas that come into my head.

Mother Earth News

I love going to this website! I get so many ideas from Mother Earth News. Everything from self-reliance, to projects I can do at home to make things easier.

Homemade Recipes

If you are looking for something new to cook for dinner, you need go no further than this website. They have recipes for a completely homemade burger (yum!) to spaghetti-o’s. If you want to find a recipe, I am sure you will find it here. Over 10,000 recipes for you to try out.

Preparedness Mama

I love this website. She has all of the bases covered! From food storage, frugal living, to gardening and preparedness. There is a wealth of information here that would be very helpful regardless if you are just beginning your preparedness journey or you have been doing it for a while. You should check her out, and I am sure you will be happy you did.

Farming My Backyard

This website is SO much fun! There is a lot of information here about chickens, and goats, but the main focus of this website is all about urban self-sufficiency. SO if you live in the city, you might find this site useful.

Blue Jean Mama

This is the place to go to learn about essential oils. The author is a certified aromatherapist, and there is so much information on this site regarding essential oils.

The Herbal Prepper

I have been doing a lot of research into herbal remedies, and from what I have dabbled with so far, I have found they really do work. In most cases, herbal remedies work better than commercial ones, so this is an area I really want to dive deeper into. And this website has been very helpful. And the author, Cat Ellis, also has a basic herbal certification class coming up in October that I am hoping Dale will let me sign up for! But she doesn’t just share information about herbal remedies, she is a wealth of knowledge about all things prepper related.

Food Storage Made Easy

This is a fantastic website devoted to all things food storage related. This is one of the very first websites I found when I began thinking about long term food storage. If you have any questions about food storage, you need to visit this site. The have printables, talk about how to store your food, and general emergency plans. It’s a great site to add to your bookmarked sites for further reading. You will never be at a loss of food storage information with these two ladies!

Modern Farmer

This is a great site to get some news related to modern farming along with many ideas of what you can do to be a modern farmer in today’s busy world. This is a fun site to visit if you want to get some interesting articles related to farming, and the current events of the world.

Ground Zero

And my list would not be complete without a tinfoil hat/conspiracy theory type website for you to check out. I have to say Clyde Lewis is by far my most favorite conspiracy theory guru. He gives you information to think about. He has a podcast that I listen to regularly, especially because he talks about alien’s, but also because he shares information about today’s current topics and really makes you think about how you feel, and gives you a different point of view to consider. So grab the tinfoil, and fashion an incredible hat when you check out his website.

Survival and being prepared should not only be a passion, it should be a lifestyle. The definition of a prepper is "An individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances, without substantial resources from outside sources" Like the Government, police etc. I don't believe that the end of the world will be the "end of the world" I believe it will be the end of the world as we know it now. Dale; thanks for the virtual treasure trove of resources.

I didn’t notice Nukemap 3D ( http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap3d/) on the list, which allows you to use Google Earth to locate a potential target (such as your home) and predict the various effects of a nearby nuclear air or ground burst. Good for planning escape routes or whether to bug in or not.

I also like TheBlaze.com as my primary news site.

Nukemap 3D is a great website, I’ve used it a few time. Gives you a great idea about what different types of nukes will do. Thanks!

I am very grateful for all that both of you do for your membership. Time is a valuable resource for me, and your site provides me with the greatest information with minimal effort on my part. I can’t express how fortunate we are to have a site like yours. I lead a meetup group, and your site is the first one I always reference.

      Respectfully,
      Rob aka Raven
