Today’s podcast with Matthew Gilman the author of After the Day and Chronicling the End of the World: Episode 1 was not only about his books, but we also talked about how and why he is preparing. As a matter of fact he sort of stumbled into prepper fiction because of his knowledge in preparedness.
You can find Matthews books here on Amazon and Chronicling the End of the World is actually a series of books that come out as he writes them, almost a series of cliffhangers. To me it’s nice to know that the person who wrote the books actualy lives the preparedness lifestyle.
Matthew also has a blog that we is working on called The Collapse Experiment which is exactly what it sound like it is. Matthew is putting himself to the test and chronicling his experiences.
You can also find Matthew on Twitter and Facebook. Stop by and say hello.
What we Discussed
- Why preparing to bugging out is important.
- How people can change and reasons we should prepare.
- What got him into preparedness and problems he faces.
- The importance of practice and using your supplies.
Matthew has agreed to be on the next SPTV episode which is a show for preppers by preppers about what we are all doing. Everyone’s situation is different and while many aspects of prepping are universal, one size does not fit all.
- Different guests every show
- From Bloggers to everyday preppers like you.
- SPTV is about getting different perspectives.
- Learning about what you feel is important.
- Giving a voice to the everyday prepper/survivalist.
- Becoming more prepared and helping each other out along the way.
The next show is probably going to be about bugging out or important aspects of prepping…I haven’t quite decided yet.
