nursing drug guide bookThis week we finish up with part 2 of our post collapse antibiotics episodes. This week we talk more about how to use antibiotics and the dangers of overuse and misuse. We went over a couple of scenarios where I asked Lisa what she would do in those situations.

The first episode we talked quite a bit about fish antibiotics, to listen to that episode click here.

A nursing drug guide book is great to have because it tells you about everything you might need to know about just about every drug and antibiotic out there. You don’t need to get the latest and greatest nursing drug hand book because the older editions are just as good. You can get these on eBay for just a few dollars a piece. We also talked about how antibiotics are worthless for viral infections and are sometimes used hoping that they will work. It can be hard to tell the difference between a viral infection and a bacterial infection, but using antibiotics for a viral infection will not only do nothing, it will create immunity to the antibiotic.

We also touched on expiration’s, storage and whether we should have antibiotics in our bug out bags. In my opinion I don’t feel like they are a nessessity, but your situation could be different than mine.

The First Aid Course

Lisa and I are also working on a First Aid Course at the Survivalist Prepper Academy that will not only go through infections and antibiotics but  many other different wounds, supplies and procedures as well. Have a look at the video and see what we are doing.

Or you can take a sneak peak at the first 2 lessons in module 1 here. These will only be available to nonmembers for a limited time.

Survival and being prepared should not only be a passion, it should be a lifestyle. The definition of a prepper is "An individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances, without substantial resources from outside sources" Like the Government, police etc. I don't believe that the end of the world will be the "end of the world" I believe it will be the end of the world as we know it now.
